At Portland Psychotherapy, we are committed to making high quality psychotherapy available to everyone in our community.
As part of our commitment to providing services to the uninsured or underinsured, we typically have a psychologist resident or practicum student who can see clients who do not have the financial resoures to pay our normal fees. A psychologist resident is someone who has completed his or her doctorate in psychology but is not yet licensed in this state. Our residents are selected through a national search, and we choose only highly qualified therapists experienced in evidenced-based psychotherapies. Our residents receive additional specialty training, spend time conducting scientific research, and receive supervision from our most experienced licensed psychologists. This arrangement allows us to offer high quality, doctoral-level psychological services at affordable fees. Practicum students are psychologists in training at local universities and receive intensive supervision by our doctoral-level staff.
